For some time now a group of friends have been getting together with their Garmin GPS once a month and having these little parties. My husband and I have been going for the past several months, but neither one of us own a Garmin GPS, so we always have to tag along with one of the other couples and can't literally participate in the hunt. The idea of the parties are to go on a type scavenger hunt, and each team has to use their Garmin GPS in order to find the next 'clue'. Each clue leads to a different location, all of which have to be found using the Garmin GPS. The person who finds the last clue and the token brings it back to the hosting couple and they are the winners. In the meantime, they usually call the other teams and tell them it's time to put away their Garmin GPS, because someone else won the prize.

The prizes vary from a weekend away to a dinner out. Sometimes it's something simple, and other times it's more elaborate. One thing is for sure, everyone loves those parties. We always have so much fun, and there is a whole lot of competition between everyone. The time is rolling around for another one of the parties, and my husband commented that we still didn't have a Garmin GPS and he didn't really think it was as fun not having a Garmin GPS because we couldn't really participate, but instead follow someone along for the ride. I know it's his competitive nature coming out, and all he's thinking is about how much he'd like to win a prize. Crazy, but true.

I decided that he's right, that in order to really enjoy ourselves with the parties, we do need to have a Garmin GPS so that we can participate like everyone else. Plus it will put us in the running for a prize if we are the first team to find everything. I decided to go online to see if I could find a Garmin GPS to order for us.
