Giving My Son My Old Garmin GPS |

I don't know how many others have this problem, but as someone who loves the outdoors, I always struggle during the winter months because I can’t get out as often and explore what beauty nature has to offer. Granted, I do get out sometimes, but as soon as the temps start to rise, you just about won't find me inside, but instead will find me somewhere with a Garmin GPS in my hand, hiking a trail or exploring the woods. In fact, I decided not too long ago that I was going to order a new Garmin GPS before the great weather rolled around and I could get out and start exploring again. Not that there is anything wrong with the current Garmin GPS that I have, they are great products, but my son has borrowed it several times and I thought it would be nice to give it to him. Even though the Garmin GPS is several years old, it works perfectly and my son can use it when he and his friends go hunting for Geocaches, their latest adventures.
I haven't told him that I'm going to give him the GPS yet, but instead I decided to wait until my new Garmin GPS arrives and then I'll give it to him. This time, I decided on the Garmin GPSMAP 60 Portable Navigator that I found at Shopp Rite Mall whose online store can be found by visiting www.shoppritemall.com. I found the Garmin GPS for a great price and I couldn't resist. I had been pricing them at a local sporting goods store, so when I saw the price online, I couldn't believe that there was such a price difference. I guess what many people say is true- that you can find many products cheaper online. Rather than waiting until the weather warmed up, I decided to go ahead and order the Garmin GPS and that way I could begin using it and getting the feel of it before spring rolls around. That will also allow me to go ahead and give my current Garmin GPS to my son, whom I know is going to be more than thrilled. He's mentioned wanting one in the past, but I've always told him that he'd have to wait until he was a little older. I guess that time has come. I'll just have to make sure he understands that he shouldn't let anyone borrow it, and that he takes really good care of it, because if he loses it, there won't be a replacement for the Garmin GPS. |
