Last year when me, my husband and my parents were driving back home from a vacation in the Florida Keys my dad woke up from a nap and had an unpleasant attitude because he thought my husband was driving in the wrong direction. Thankfully we were able to use our Garmin GPS to prove that my husband was going the right way. My dad looked a little bit silly but no harm was done.
This event made me wonder how many potential arguments have been resolved with a Garmin GPS. You see I remember the days before the Garmin GPS. In those days you may recall that it was not uncommon for a passenger to accuse a driver of going in the wrong direction or getting everyone lost. If the driver and passenger happened to be a romantic couple who weren’t getting on that well to start with then the argument could easily escalate. The Garmin GPS has made such arguments a thing of the past. Now couples and family members have to find another excuse to argue.
My husband bought his first Garmin GPS about four years ago. Compared to some of the technologically advanced Garmin GPS systems that are available today the one my husband bought was quite a basic model. Nevertheless my husband’s first Garmin GPS was still quite expensive. I believe it cost more than five hundred dollars but I can’t be sure because it was quite some time ago now.
I was recently perusing an ecommerce site called the Shopp Rite Mall at http://www.shoppritemall.com. While I was looking at various products I saw a Garmin GPS similar to the first one my husband ever bought. The Shopp Rite Mall is selling this Garmin GPS for a lot less than my husband paid for his first one. Now admittedly this has something to do with the fact that GPS technology has been available for quite a while now. The price of the basic Garmin GPS has come down quite a bit since my husband purchased his back in 2005. However the affordable price tag also has something to do with the fact that the Shopp Rite Mall is selling this particular model of Garmin GPS for less than the standard retail price. My husband is a gadget junkie so I have experience of shopping at both bricks and mortar stores and ecommerce sites. It has been my experience that ecommerce sites like the Shopp Rite Mall almost always offer better value for money. That is one of the reasons why I do most of my shopping online these days.
