Modern Warfare 2
1080p hdtv, lcd hdtvWhen Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for Xbox 360 came out the second week of November, I was sure to get it that week and beat the campaign on regular within two days. I have yet to unlock all of the Spec Ops missions but after checking my online stats, I have played the multiplayer games for almost 2 days straight time. Some might think that is sad but I just find it a great, cheap way to entertain myself.

 When it comes to FPS games, there is nothing as satisfying as moving the cross hairs onto an unsuspecting opponent, squeezing down on the controller and garnering a 150 point headshot. The 1080p HDTV video above is a nice example of what I am talking about. The other night I was lucky enough to play with a random pro gamer who had left his private matches to play with us mere mortals. I say that because within 2 minutes of a headquarters match he had already vanquished 25 enemies without dying using a silenced Barrett .50 cal sniper rifle. For MW2 enthusiasts, we know that is an instant game win after using the Tactical Nuke reward. He was so good that he didn’t even use it until minutes were counting down in the game. By the end, our five man team had embarrassed our opponents and this kid had finished with a nuke strike and K/D record of 83-13. Came to find out he is on a team who used to be one of the world’s contenders in the original Modern Warfare online. After that performance, I believed him.

As for the single player modes, this game is nothing short of stunning in cinematics, level creativity and weapons. Over a 1080p HDTV and home theater components this is the closest video game, I imagine to being in an actual battle. After respawning countless times during story mode, it makes my appreciation for real soldiers that much stronger. They have no restarts. The 1080p HDTV story mode goes from Russia to Brazil to the east coast of the United States. Never before have I seen a war game with battles based around American country clubs, fast food joints or the White House. I have been glued to my LCD HDTV since this title came out.

When I saw it for sale within Shopp Rite Mall at http://www.shoppritemall.com/ all of those awesome Modern Warfare 2 1080p HDTV experiences I have had playing came pouring back. It made something like 500 million dollars worldwide in five days and will be a huge holiday gift for the gamers who have yet to purchase. Nothing but love for this game.
