If you're someone like me that watches a great deal of TV, then you probably have your own opinions about what are the most important home theater components. Some would argue that it's a 1080p HDTV, a surround sound system, or the latest model LCD HDTV, but in my opinion, the most important of all home theater components is the collection of movies that you collect. Personally, I favor a really eclectic selection of films, ranging from old classics to the latest hits. I like to have films from all genres, especially science fiction, comedies, westerns, film noirs, war movies, action pictures, good foreign films, even silent films and documentaries. You can really tell a lot about a person from perusing their video collections. Some people never buy movies to play on their home theater components. They just rent the latest releases and never buy anything to keep. That's not my style, but it takes all kinds, I guess. But I think that if you don't have a great collection of classic films, then your home theater components are being wasted. |
